For the temperate forest prompt at :iconweekly-environment: :) I haven't done enough environment painting lately xD Been focusing too much on character art! This was very refreshing to do and is a speedpaint, done in a little less than 90 minutes. I reffed it from a photo I took myself when I was on a hike last summer where the trail crossed over some miniature cascades in a narrow canyon.

I need to stop slacking on my environment art lol xD Does it look like I'm out of practice? LOL probably.

this is amazing!! I've always admire your talent to create the iompression not only of living vegetation, but also of space and dimension. I like it alot, it looks very organic C:

It came out beautiful! I love the feeling of majesty here - I just want to get in there and climb to the top and see what's on the horizon. The colours are gorgeous~ amazing job!

Thank you very much c: It's actually interesting that you mention climbing to the top and looking over the horizon considering this location xD The photo was taken in an area called the Columbia Gorge, on the Washington/Oregon state border. It's a huge, steep-sided gorge with a unique geology and the highest density of waterfalls in the US. If you were to climb to the top, you'd find yourself in a wild plateau sort of place with a spectacular view of 3+ snowcapped volcanoes, with Hood being the most prominent as it is pretty much right over top of the gorge on the Oregon side, and Adams is not far to the north on the Washington side :) It's a very scenic area.

Wow~ that sounds amazing! I'm not usually a huge outdoors-y person but I would love to go hiking in a place like that!
